How Long Does It Take To Get A Six Pack?

There is no definitive answer to any weight loss or muscle building question.  How long does it take to get a six pack?  A shorter amount of time if you're lean, have a low body fat percentage, eat right, and train your body hard.

The short answer on how to get a six pack is simple:  Eat foods that your body can use for fuel.  Keep the fat content low and stay away from trans-fats.  Keep track of your calories and eat lots of variety when it comes to fruits and vegetables.

Cardio, cardio, cardio.  If you're serious about getting a six pack in a short amount of time, then do cardio 7 days a week for at least thirty minutes.  If you start to feel dizzy or light headed, stop immediately and rest.  Do not starve yourself of nutrients.  Remember, your body needs food (most notably carbs) for fuel.

Lastly, train all of your core, not just the abs.  Don't forget to train your erector spinae (lower back) and obliques.  Planks, cross extensions, and side planks will help strengthen those areas.

Final tip:  Don't just stop working out when you start feeling the burn.  Keep pushing and pushing until the number of reps get higher and higher.  As long as you aren't cramping, you should do just fine!

Remember, you get out of your body what you put into it!
