Step 1: First things first, if you have extra fat around your midsection, you've got to get rid of it before anything else. This includes sagging stomach, "love handles", and back fat. To do this, you must do cardio. For the quickest results, I recommend 3-5 times a week of intense cardio for at least 30 minutes each day. What good is a six pack if nobody can see it? The best cardio to do? Running or jump rope are very high endurance and will burn calories quickly.

Step 2: Get your diet under control. I won't go into detail, but it all comes down to calories in vs. calories out. If you burn more calories in a day than you consume, you're on the right path. Eating high nutritional foods and staying away from high sodium, high fat foods is the key to quicker abs.

Step 3: Crunches and situps. You guessed it! The cardio burns the fat, the diet keeps the stomach from bulging back out, and the crunches tone the muscles to give you the lean look of abs. I recommend doing some form of abdominal strength training at least 3 times a week-- morning and night for optimal results. This includes workouts that target the obliques as well.

With any workout plan, patience is a virtue. Nobody can achieve these results over night, but with consistency and determination, you can be well on your way to the body you want!
